Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal
Rashtriya Shikshan Mandal (RSM) is a public charitable trust founded in 1924, born out of the spirit of the Indian freedom movement and a commitment to promoting swadeshi, value-based education.
Origins & Mission
RSM was established by visionary educationalists and social reformers, inspired by ideals of national self-reliance (“Swadeshi Shikshan”) and a desire to provide indigenous, socially conscious education.
The trust’s founding was influenced by the patriotic and reformist climate of the freedom struggle — reflecting an intention not just to educate, but to nurture socially responsible citizens.
Educational & Institutional Role
Over decades, RSM has expanded beyond its origins to include multiple institutions: among them is Chetan Dattaji Gaikwad Institute of Management Studies (CDG-IMS) - a management-education institute under RSM’s aegis.
Through its educational initiatives, RSM aims to combine traditional values with modern academic and professional education — helping produce graduates equipped for contemporary challenges, especially in management and allied fields.
Values & Ethos
Legacy & Trust: With a history extending over nine decades since 1924, RSM brings institutional stability, credibility and a legacy of commitment to education.
Social Consciousness: Founded as part of the freedom-movement era’s drive for equitable, indigenous education, RSM embraces social responsibility and public service — values that influence its educational philosophy.
Holistic Education Vision: Through its institutions (particularly in management education), RSM seeks to provide an education that goes beyond academics — fostering leadership, social awareness, and moral grounding.
